With regard to the government's 2020 target, OekoStroum Weiler S.A. has supplied 20% of the wind energy produced in the country. This corresponds to 0.8% of renewable energy consumption. The electricity generated by the wind farm saves 550,000,000 kg of CO2 emissions compared to coal-fired power plants.
As a signatory of the Climate Pact, the municipality of Wintger has positively supported the project from the beginning. Since the operators involve local companies and create new jobs, the wind farm has a significant impact on the economic performance of the region in addition to the ecological aspect.

ENVIRONMENTAL MEASURES
To compensate for 3.3 ha of deforestation of coniferous trees (monoculture), 2.1 ha of oak and hornbeam forest were reforested in Eschweiler.
Acquisition of agricultural land and development of a complex land and MAHD management concept.
PROTECTIVE MEASURES
To keep birds away from the wind farm and avoid possible collisions, feeders were placed.
PARTICIPATION
The offer to the citizens of the municipality to participate financially in the project was spontaneously well received. The company Weiler Wand s.c. coordinated the investment of one million euros. In a few weeks there were 48 parties who bought 400 shares in the capital. For its part, the company Weiler Wand s.c. concluded a service contract with Oekostroum Weiler S.A..
This guarantees the citizens a fixed return of 5% per year on the amount invested for a period of 10 years.
